Let’s talk about being mindful of the world around you. The Buddhists call this Mindfulness. Meditation is one way of doing this, but there is something else you can do and its like a very mini meditation.

Most of us live in a hectic world, deadlines to meet, meetings to attend, commitments to keep…. always being productive.

And sometimes we are living in the world of the anticipation of what’s next or spinning out from what happened or didn’t happen in the past.

What we know is that the power or energy we have is connected to being in the present…. fully connected to the moment, not worrying about the future or regretful of the past. Being right here right now is where we get the juice of life.

So here is a quick and simple exercise to get you back into the Powerful Present and be mindful, paying conscious attention to whatever you are doing.

Pause every 2 hours for 30-60 seconds and pay full attention to what you are doing.

What are you doing?

What are you thinking?

What are you feeling?

What do you hear?

What do you smell?

Benefit? Reconnect with the world around you, interrupt any negative patterns and integrate mindfulness into your everyday life.

That’s it. You’re back in the present and better able to create in a busy world. Think of it like a computer reset!
